Say What?

I just love it when kids are talking and say things wrong. For example:
Hannah likes lemonade or "lemalade". Awhile ago we went to dinner at the Art City Trolly. Hannah asked for a cheesydia and lemalade. That would mean a quesadilla (sp?) and lemonade. Some of her other funny words are:

"sleeve these up" = roll up my sleeves
"sit by the feater" = sit by the heater
"galastics" = gymnastics
"nesterday" = yesterday

She has a bunch more. And Brooklyn did too. I just can't think of them right now. But it is so cute when they say things. I should really correct them, but it makes me laugh that I don't.

Too much to do and not enough time to do it!

Yes, I know that I am not the only one with this problem. But I am really feeling it today.

Today I want to:

-zumba in my basement. I've been wanting to exercise on somewhat of a regular basis so that I have more energy during the days and feel better.
-blog
-go tanning. Yes this is vain. But we are going on a cruise in 5 weeks and I want to start with a little color. Plus I need some vitamin D to make it through the rest of winter.
-take a shower and practice curling my hair cute so I can get better at it.
-work on painting the girls bedroom

I need to:

-clean my house for the presidency meeting tonight
-fold the mountain of clean laundry and put it away
-take a shower
-do office work (I work for my husband) I am a week or so behind
-go to the bank
-make a dinner menu
-make dinner before gymnastics starts at 3:45 so that it will be ready when we get home at 5:30 so that we might be able to scarf something down as a family before BJ needs to leave to Bishopric at 6:00
-go grocery shopping
-homework with kids
-gymnastics with kids

All of these things I try to do while my kids are at school. Which I only have an hour and half until daughter #2 comes home. Hmm. what to do?

My dilemma with blogging

Okay, so over the last few years I've tried a few different methods of "recording" events in my life. Writing in a journal, scapbooking, and now blogging. I like the journal because I feel like I can write ANYTHING in there. Personal or not. However, there are not pictures and I love pictures. I like scrapbooking because there are lots of pictures. But I tend to not do as much journaling, which I think is really important. And so now, I am trying to route of blogging. It seems to be able to accomplish both; pictures and journaling.
But here is my dilemma: I hesitate to write everything on a blog. Sometimes I just want to whine. Or some sometimes yell. Or sometimes write down a really neat personal experience. And I hesitate because I don't know if that is appropriate or if readers would or should hear some of those thoughts of mine.
I originally started the blog as a way for my parents to be able to see their grandkids and enjoy their day to day life. But I have a feeling that they NEVER look at the blog. I'm not really sure why I hesitate to blog about some things. I only have two followers. And not that the number matters. I just don't know where I should record some of my thoughts. I can just imagine some of my decendants trying to figure out who I am or what I was like, and struggling because there are so many different journals, scrapbooks, and blog (blog books). Oye. What to do?

Hannah's First Dentist Appointment

Just a couple of weeks ago I took Hannah to the dentist for the first time. I was probably more nervous than she was. I just wasn't sure of how she would respond. I was blown away thought at how well she did. Not one single tear or hesitation. She was very shy and didn't talk to anyone. But she was still very will to do everything they asked. They were even able to get xrays. Brooklyn has been a handful of times and they still have never been able to get those with her.

Valentines Day

For Valentines Day this year we decided to go out to dinner on the 12th and then celebrate on the 14th with our kiddos. We went to the Roof in SLC. We trippled with Vivian and Russell Olson and Josh and Whitney Clegg. It was so much fun. You can't tell very well from the picture but we dressed it up a bit. I had my friend curl my hair and I wore a sparkly scarf. I guess thats about the extent of me dressing up. But I had fun nonetheless. The food was DELICIOUS! I told BJ that we need to make this a Valentines Day tradition every year. It was so nice because we could make reservations and the environment was very calming and peaceful. Not some loud crowded resturaunt. And not to mention having a spectacular view.

For the kids valentines this year I found this cute idea to make dumdum sucker flowers. The petals are actually three cut out hearts. It was alot of fun to make and I liked how they turned out.

I had the kids write their own names on their own valentines. I had to help translate Hannah's because she told me that she was writing her name in Spanish. I was quite impressed. I had no idea that she was learning how to read and write in two languages at preschool.
I also heart attacked the kids bedroom door. The next morning when the kids woke up (which is before we wake up every morning) I could sort of hear them. They were noticing their door. Then they were quiet and a few minutes later they were sneaking into our room and laying little love notes on top of us as we still layed in bed. I was super cute.
For dinner that night BJ made "his girls" a nice steak dinner. He got us each a small gift and candy. We turned off the lights and ate our meal in candle light. It was alot of fun. The girls are requesting now that we eat all of our meals "fancy" with candles. BJ was such a champ to make that dinner for all of us. He was sick and had been all weekend.

My kids are great problem solvers

The other evening I was going to the grocery store. I had both kids with me. On the way there Brooklyn says, "Mom, do you have a tissue? I have a bogger." I turn and look to find her holding her finger up with the big squishy green bogger on it. I reply, "No I don't have a tissue. And that is really gross. Don't pick you nose! Especially if you have no where to put it." Brooklyn is quiet for a moment, and then says, "It's ok! I'll just put it back." And proceeds to put the bogger back where it came from. YUCK! I for sure didn't see that one coming.

Warm weather, here we come!

As much as I wish that my parents lived close by, we sure do enjoy the free California stay we have right at our finger tips. Over Martin Luther King weekend we decided it was high time to get the heck out of the fridged cold and enjoy some sun! It was a four day weekend for the kids and a three day weekend for BJ, so the timing was perfect. However, as excited as we all were for this vacation, I WAS NOT looking forward to a 12 hour journey with small children. We've done it before and we will most definitely do it again, but I don't know that I will ever look forward to that part. I must say though, my kids really suprised me with how good they were.

For some reason my kids LOVE to stay in hotels. Which is interesting because I don't think we've ever done it more than twice. At any rate, we thought we would break our trip up and stay the night in Las Vegas on the way down. We were able to find a really cheap hotel ($15) at a hotel that was actually kind of nice. Not luxurious, but not $15 type either. That helped soooo much! And of course the kids loved it!

But along our journey there of course were come emergency pit stops that were needed...

... and some food breaks. But once we felt that warm air, we enjoyed every bit of it.

Once we were in California the kids just stayed outside and played as much as they could. I even found myself out there. Eating my meals and doing the girls hair. Any chance I could find to soak up some Vitamin D I did.

One of the days there we took our kids to a childrens museum that was all hands on. It was super fun. At the museum they had this quaint little food shack. The service was fantastic and the food wasn't too bad either. That is, if you like to eat a pickle with a brownie with a chicken drumstick. All at the same time!
You could dress up as a fireman and be the town hero...
test drive some cars... not even any age requirements.
and even journey to outer space!
Poor BJ. He got sicke while we were there and had to go to the doctor. I'm not positive, but I think he thought the nurse was kind of cute.
Hannah took an anatomy class...
And passed with flying colors! We of course couldn't go all the way to California without a visit to the beach, or two.
a star fish sculpture.
The craziest thing happened while we were there. We went to this Harbor and saw some people that looked so much like us! We had to snap a few pictures.
Our second trip to the beach. This time we decided to go in style. My dads 5.0 Mustang Convertable.
Our two blonde little beauties!
Goodbye Califonia. We will miss you!
